From what I understand sculpture art is any artwork that is handcrafted from a material into a three-dimensional object. This means that the work can be made from clay, stone, organic materials, etc.… In this class I expect to explore the different aspects of 3D art that makes it unique and different from 2D. For example, there is more opportunity for viewers to interact with the artworks because of the way they take up space. A sculpture is much easier to make look inviting and interactable than a static 2D painting hung on a wall. I also expect to be experimenting a lot with texture and volume.
