Midterm Reflection

I think I struggled overall with the fast pace of this class but I managed to pick myself back up towards the end of the first project. In the future I need to work on my time management skills so I do not let work snowball into a problem.

As for the course material so far, it is a lot different than I expected. When I think of sculpture my mind immediately jumps to clay or stone. Because of this I initially struggled with using the cardboard to construct my piece. I was stuck in the mindset that sculpture was something mold-able or carve-able. By being pushed to use different materials I gained a better understanding of sculpture and just how flexible the definition is. I also had to think a lot about the concepts of my work and the meanings they create. Making art with meaning was not something I was familiar with until last semester, so I enjoyed being pushed to think more about how I want viewers to interpret it.
